Advice for Greece Travellers

Banks: Generally open Monday to Thursday from 8.30 am at 02:00 p.m., and Friday from 08:30 a.m. at 1:30 p.m.

Clothing: thin coats are recommended during summer months, including protective clothing for midday sun, To night, thin sweaters may be needed. For autumn, rain coats are recommended. Winter months can be quite cold, especially in the continental cloud, so that adequate winter clothing is recommended.

Credit cards: Credit cards can be used in most hotels and tourist shops are indispensable for rental cars, restaurant meals, it is better to have cash on hand.

Currency: The official currency is EUR. There are subdivisions of EUR 500, EUR 200, EUR 100 EUR 50 EUR 10 and EUR 5. There are coins in subdivision 2 EUR, 1 EUR, 50 cents, 20 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents, 2 cents and 1 cent. 100 cents make up 1 EUR.

Climate: The climate is Mediterranean Greece. Summer is full of dry and hot days specially in northern and coastal areas. Athens it may be suffocating warm, so that visitors may need time to adjust. Evenings have a nice weather. Winters months are usually gentle in the southern region, however significantly chilly in the north part. From November to March bitter time of year extends.
